Hi, I'm Shawn Howard Owner and operator of Shawn's Auto Direct Inc.
I am originally from the Charlotte area and have lived in the Carolinas my whole life.
While attending High School in Charlotte I started my automotive career path with taking classes in Automotive Mechanic and Auto Body Repair.
While in High school I went to worked for a local Automotive Upholstery shop where I worked close with the local car dealers for Upholstery repairs, Convertible tops, Sunroofs, leather kits and ground effects and other trim items. We handled North and Sc dealers.
Once I graduated high school I went to work for a local Chevy dealer Larry Jay Chevy where I started out in car sales and transition over to fixed operations side of the business ie: Detail dept, New Car get ready, and later Express service Dept the days of 29 minutes or less oil changes.
I later started my career as a Service Advisor at Bowie Ford in Monroe NC and later had positions with Beck Mercedes, Arnold Palmer Cadillac, Sonny Hancock Chevy as service advisor.
In 2003 I started my management career with Keffer Hyundai where I grow to become the Service and Parts Director for the dealership and was there until Nov of 2015.
We are able to build a great team there and achieved many awards and accolades with Hyundai Motor America.
I was also service manager for Modern Hyundai/Genesis in Concord and Paramount Hyundai/ Genesis in Hickory
I've had a goal for many years to have my own business so in March 2023 my wife and I decided to make the move to start that career path.
Finding the right location for a car lot was somewhat a challenge. As most local zoning rules would not allow for a new location. So I had to find a location that was already a car lot or try and find a location that zoned already for a car lot.
Then one day on my way to church on a Sunday Morning in Sept of 23 my eye caught a sign that said "For Rent" at the then Peek Motors Lot.
It had everything I was looking for : Great Location, Nice office facility, good Lighting, and a good vehicle display area for the public.
So we reached out to the owner and came to an agreement on the terms and conditions of the lease at 2147 E Main St.
So we signed an agreement in late Sept and after going through all the State requirements we officially open for business in Nov 2023
Our #1 Goal is " Treat Others as we would want to be treated" and Provide a quality product at a fair and reasonable price.
